Tear

"They certainly rock hard and this single, from their debut album, affirms their classic rock sound. 'Tear' is anthemic and passionate and serves as a nod to RSPs influences, like the Dave Mathews Band and Led Zeppelin." - HOTPRESS - June 06

The first single taken from Cork's Red Sea Pedestrians self-titled debut album, "Tear" is a passion-filled anthem by of one of the leading lights in Ireland's much anticipated (and needed!) rock revival. Already building up a reputation as one of the country's hardest working bands on the club circut, the band are on the threshold of bringing their music to a larger audience.

Red Sea Pedestrians are that old fashion thing; a polished, proper, serious rock band. Together they create a distinctive big sound with each member contributing their own unique ingredient to the mix which has developed from a renewed confidence in nonstop gigging.

After spending 2005 in the studio with Ashley Keating ( The Frank And Walters ) the band emerged with an album that reasserts the strength of passionate rock anthems in these times of limp-wristed Strokes clones. Keating, who is building his name as a producer, brought a pop sensibility to proceedings, giving the songs focus for maximum impact. The band took their time with the record and only when they felt they had something they could all stand over they sent it off to Los Angeles-based Dave Collins ( Ben Harper, Jack Johnson, Soundgarden, Alice In Chains ) for mastering.

In an era when music on the radio sounds unimaginative and predictable, Red Sea Pedestrians tip a hat to artists such as the Dave Mathews Band, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Counting Crows, Led Zeppelin and other great bands which are not being catered for lovers of good old fashion rock in Ireland.

Red Sea Pedestrians are
Jude Hegarty on vocals, Stephen Dunlea on guitar,
Mike Geaney on bass and Karl Downes on drums.
